Abstract

This study aims at identifying the level of emotional intelligence of Bangladeshi business graduates. This study used a quantitative cross-sectional research method to explore the factors concerning emotional intelligence of the business graduates in the Northern Region of Bangladesh. It uses a descriptive correlational approach to evaluate the level of EI and investigates the influence of demographic variables like gender difference, university type, and marital status of the graduates on the overall EI scores. Factor analysis using SPSS-26 and AMOS 24 was applied to compute the emotional intelligence measures. Additionally, hypothesis testing was conducted to evaluate the relationships between overall EI and the independent EI variables. Results show that the self-management domain of EI is significantly related to the overall EI of the business graduates of Northern Part of Bangladesh. The gender differernce and the university types also significantly influence the overall EI scores of the graduates in Bangladesh. The findings contribute to the existing knowledge of EI by adding value through the identification of the specific level of EI of the business graduates in Bangladesh. The findings also identified the specific domains which inspires the graduates to concentrate more on the lower-scored domains of emotional intelligence.
